Law As Influence, Law As Change

A FREE four-week residential summer program for undergraduate students who are interested in law school. Participants will receive a $1000 stipend upon successful completion of the program. This free program is sponsored by AccessLex Institute's Diversity Pathway Grant and hosted by the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law and Utah State University–Blanding.

Open to students at USU Blanding and other colleges in the Four Corners region! Must be 18 years or older to participate.

Are you thinking about going to law school and becoming a lawyer?
This summer program gives you a hands-on preview of law school, helps you prepare to apply, and gets you ready to succeed as a law student. Participants will receive a $1000 stipend upon successful completion of the program.

Here's what you'll do:

Application and Financial Aid Workshops
Learn about applying to law school and the financial aid process.

Personal & Professional Development
Develop professional and personal skills to support you as a college and law student.

Introduction to Legal Profession
Immerse yourself the in the legal industry and its vast career opportunities.

Introductory Law Classes
Take short courses to learn the basics of criminal law, environmental law, and legal methods.

Get a Taste of Life in Law School
Meet lawyers and law students, visit courts, and more.

About the Diversity Pathway Grant Program
The Diversity Pathway Intervention Grant Program provides funding to programs and initiatives aimed at helping college students and/or college graduates from historically underrepresented groups successfully matriculate into law school and the legal profession. The central goal of the Diversity Pathway Intervention Grant Program is to increase the knowledge base around effective methods for increasing the enrollment and success of law students from historically underrepresented racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
