S.J. Quinney College of Law

The library purchases a copy of all “Required” course books each semester for J.D. classes and makes them available on Course Reserve.  We do not purchase optional or recommended materials, but if they are already in our collection, they will also be put on Course Reserve.  If you have questions about course reserves, please contact Hiroko Hashitani (hiroko.hashitani@law.utah.edu).

The library provides access to the Lexis Digital Library so virtually all of the print titles we purchase from Lexis and related publishers will be available electronically (remotely!) on the Overdrive platform. You need to sign-in to access the library; instructions are available on our Legal Database list. Marriott Library has other e-book collections. Information on accessing and using these collections can be found here.

A small collection of print study aids is available on level 1 of the library. Please remember to check books out at the desk on level 1 or 2 or via email (send a picture of the title page and bar code from your university email account). All College of Law students have access to CALI. J.D. students have access to Quimbee Study Aids and West Academic Study Aids. Electronic study aids are available via our Legal Database list. If you need assistance selecting a study aid to meet your needs, contact the reference desk.

If there is a book or other resource that would benefit your studies or research, send a request to purchase the item to reference@law.utah.edu. Please provide information about the item (title, author, hyperlink to where you found it), and why it is beneficial to add it to the collection. Someone from the library will contact you about the library’s ability to add the item to the collection.
