All other campus community members desiring to request an interlibrary loan request should contact the Marriott or Eccles libraries. All other users, please contact your local library.

Prior to Making a Request
Prior to Making a Request
Please check all possible campus and free resources before submitting an ILL request. Please note that textbooks and course materials are not available through Interlibrary Loan. Students are expected to acquire these materials on their own by purchasing them, borrowing from a friend, or taking advantage of course reserves.  Additionally, some items such as dvds or specialized material formats generally are not obtainable via Interlibrary loan – we will likely not be able to get these sorts of items for you.
How to Make a Request
How to Make a Request
If you are a Faust Law Library user as described above and have checked all other sources for the item you need with no success, here are the steps to follow to request an item through our Interlibrary Loan service:
  • Find the item on WorldCat (Hint: if you know you are looking for a book or a journal article, choose the appropriate tab). When you find your item, note the “OCLC Number”.  Also be sure to have information such as the author, edition, and publication date available.
  • Create an ILLIAD account or log in if you already have an account set up.
  • Click the link to fill out the form for the type of item you are looking for (Article, Statute, Book). Fill it out as completely as possible. Be sure to include the OCLC Number that you noted in step one. Click “Submit Request”.
Please note that while some print items will arrive fairly quickly (within one week), others can take much longer (up to three weeks). It depends on where the library we borrow the item from is located. If you have any problems creating an account or placing a request, contact Carolyn Cook at: carolyn.cook@law.utah.edu or 801-585-3014.
