Editor’s Note Summer 2021

RES GESTAE | Summer 2021

The end of spring semester at the S.J. Quinney College of Law is full of new beginnings as graduates prepare to embark on their legal careers after three years in law school.

This spring in particular marked glimpses of a return to normalcy amid the COVID-19 pandemic, when law graduates gathered for a socially distanced celebration of their accomplishments at graduation.

Change is at the heart of this issue of Res Gestae, which aims to celebrate new graduates and alumni who are making a difference as the world adjusts to a post-pandemic reality.

A changing format for Res Gestae

Adjusting to life with COVID-19 brought many of us into new digital spaces full-time. The College of Law will continue its best efforts to bring more and better digital content to you in new ways moving forward. This change includes our recent move from a print version of Res Gestae to its new online format. We believe this move is not only more sustainable, but it is a smart choice for our audience moving forward through, and after, an uncertain time. We are able to reach more people with the digital format and we greatly reduce the negative impact of so many print copies, huge numbers of which are returned due to lost or wrong addresses. We look forward to sending you the digital issues from now on and, hopefully by early this winter, we will be able to send you a link to a new website devoted exclusively to Res Gestae content.

We hope you enjoy this issue and as always, we welcome feedback and future story ideas at resgestae@law.utah.edu.
