BIOLAW / LABS
FELLOWSHIPS
The BioLaw and LABS (Law and Bio Sciences) fellowships provide recipients with the opportunity to do research on cutting-edge issues in law and the biosciences and to work with members of the legal community and researchers in the biosciences. Interest and/or expertise in federal regulatory law, intellectual property law, law and bioscience, or law and medical informatics preferred. Applicants should have a strong record of academic excellence and be willing to work collegially with project participants.
Fellows work directly with Professors Leslie Francis, Teneille Brown, Amelia Rinehart, Jorge Contreras, and Ken Chahine on scholarship, service, and other activities. There will be weekly group meetings which fellows will be expected to attend (either in person or on the phone) as part of their fellowship hours. Fellows will be expected to work approximately 150 hours per semester (roughly 10 hours/week), and should be prepared to make a firm commitment to that level of time and effort. Applicants should take into account any planned outside work or extra-curricular activities before making this commitment.
